JOB DESCRIPTION Title: School Counselor Reports To: Megan Rabbitt, Head of School Office/ Dept: As applicable FLSA Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 30 hours/week

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ● Design therapeutic strategies and programs to address problems of adjustment ● Conducts SEL lessons in TK-8 (combined grade level) classrooms using SEL curriculum materials provided by Saint Brigid ● Consult with other educators and parents on issues of social development and behavioral and academic difficulties ● Coordinate with teachers and the San Francisco Unified School District (or the District the child lives in) and/or psychologists in private practices when students need psychological-educational assessments for the purpose of identifying special needs ● Provide individual and/or small group counseling for individuals and/or classes needed ● Coordinate intervention strategies for the management of individual, peer-group, and school-wide crises ● Cover recess/yard/or lunch duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS: ● Proficient in Google Classroom and/or other Learning Management systems ● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite ● Ability to interpret Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Psycho-Educational evaluations ● Strong Organization skills and ability to meet deadlines ● Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal ● Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred

EXPERIENCE: ● One to three years experience as a school counselor, preferably in a Catholic School.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: ● A baccalaureate degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university ● Complete post-baccalaureate degree study consisting of a minimum of 48-semester units in a Commission-approved professional preparation program specializing in school counseling, including a practicum with school-aged children

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: ● Ability to sit, walk, stand, and climb stairs, alternating as needed and sometimes for prolonged periods. ● Must be able to bend, pull, and reach above shoulder level. ● Must be able to lift 25 lbs. PAY RANGE: $45.00-$53.00/hour
